United States: Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) have alleged that detainees at the Camp East Montana immigration detention facility in El Paso, Texas, were subjected to beatings, denial of medical care, and degrading living conditions. The findings, based on 80 interviews with detainees, claim that guards routinely used excessive force while detainees also faced chronic malnutrition, unsanitary conditions, and restricted access to family members and legal counsel.
