Sophie urges caution, citing Harvey Price’s complex needs as Katie Price says her son wants a small frog tattoo.
UK: Katie Price’s sister Sophie has urged caution over plans for Harvey Price to get a tattoo, saying his complex needs should be considered before any decision is made.
The discussion took place during an episode of The Katie Price Show podcast, where Katie revealed that her 24-year-old son had repeatedly expressed interest in getting a small frog tattoo on his hand.
“Harvey keeps asking, he wants a little frog done, a tiny little frog,” Katie said during the podcast.
Sophie responded by asking Katie to reconsider the idea, saying Harvey’s ability to make independent decisions should be taken into account.
Why did Sophie object to the tattoo?
Sophie said that while Harvey is legally an adult, his developmental age and support needs are important factors when considering decisions involving permanent changes to his body.
“But Harv’s mental age isn’t 24, is it? It’s a lot younger so I would think of it in that respect,” Sophie said.
She added that Harvey requires support from others when making certain decisions.
Katie defended her son’s wish, saying Harvey understands what tattoos are because he has seen her get tattoos and is familiar with the process.
“He is 24, he is a man. I know he’s got complex needs,” Katie said, questioning why he should not be allowed to make the choice if he wants one.
What health conditions does Harvey have?
Harvey Price has autism, Prader-Willi syndrome, and septo-optic dysplasia, conditions that affect his development and daily life.
Katie also revealed that Harvey’s siblings, Junior and Princess, are planning to get small frog tattoos as a way of sharing a connection with their older brother.
The discussion comes as Katie continues work on a new mini-documentary project involving Harvey and podcast host Lewis Nicholls.
