Education is considered the backbone of national development, and teachers are the most important stakeholders in the educational process. The quality of education largely depends upon the professionalism, competence, and commitment of teachers. Professionalism in teaching refers to a teacher’s dedication to ethical standards, subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, continuous learning, punctuality, and responsibility toward students. Unfortunately, a common criticism of Pakistan’s education system is that many teachers lack professionalism in their teaching practices, which adversely affects educational outcomes.
