Dubai Police seize bikes after Ramadan stunt complaints

Dubai Police have seized motorcycles and quad bikes from teenage riders after residents in several communities complained about dangerous stunts and reckless riding during the hours following iftar in the holy month of Ramadan. Authorities said groups of youths were performing risky manoeuvres on public roads and in residential areas, causing loud noise and creating safety hazards for motorists, pedestrians and local families.

According to police, multiple complaints were received from neighbourhoods such as Mirdif and Dubai Hills, prompting traffic patrols to intensify surveillance and intervene. In several cases, officers impounded the bikes, summoned the parents of the minors involved, and initiated legal action as per traffic regulations. Police also released video clips showing the stunts, underscoring the risk such behaviour poses to both the riders and others on the road.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, warned that riding without understanding safety rules or complying with regulations constitutes a legal violation and a direct threat to road security. He urged parents to supervise their children and keep recreational bikes off public roads and interior residential streets to help ensure public safety during Ramadan evenings.

Authorities have called on residents to report similar violations through the Dubai Police 901 helpline or via the Police Eye feature on the Dubai Police app and stressed that community cooperation is essential in reducing such dangerous behaviour and maintaining calm in family-oriented neighbourhoods.
