Switzerland, Sonova launched its third hearing-aid platform using real-time artificial intelligence on Monday, as the Swiss hearing-device maker seeks to strengthen its market position and meet its medium-term growth targets.
The new Phonak EON platform is designed to be smaller and lighter, with technology that Sonova says can make speech twice as understandable while reducing listening effort. The company previously introduced its first real-time AI hearing aid in 2024.
What Does Sonova’s New AI Hearing Aid Offer?
Sonova said the EON platform uses advanced AI to improve speech recognition in noisy environments. The company expects the technology to attract both existing customers replacing older devices and people purchasing hearing aids for the first time.
The company has not disclosed pricing but said the new platform was designed to support its premium-market positioning.
When Will Sonova’s AI Hearing Aid Launch Globally?
The EON platform launched in the United States on Monday, with Australia and major European markets, including Germany, France, Italy and Britain, scheduled to receive the product in mid-September.
A broader global rollout will follow. Sonova said it continues to see positive market conditions in key regions, particularly Asia-Pacific and Latin America, where it is seeking to increase sales and expand its presence amid ageing populations.
