Security forces carried out a strong retaliatory response after what officials described as unprovoked cross-border firing by Afghan Taliban elements and associated militants in the Chaman sector along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
According to security sources, Pakistani troops targeted multiple hostile positions, destroying several checkposts and a vehicle during the operation. The action forced opposing elements to withdraw from their positions, officials added.
In the follow-up strikes, security forces reportedly hit several locations including the Sarshan, Al-Marjan, and Edhi posts. Sources said the response was part of ongoing military operations aimed at countering cross-border aggression and militant activity.
Officials stated that the armed forces remain fully committed to defending Pakistan’s territorial integrity and will continue operations against any threats along the border. They further said that Operation Ghazab lil Haq will persist until all stated objectives are achieved.
