United States: Some of Nvidia’s largest customers have been notified that prices for servers containing the company’s artificial intelligence chips will rise by more than 15% in many cases, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday.
The reported increases are linked to rising memory chip costs and are expected to take effect for systems shipped early next year.
The price hikes will affect systems using Nvidia’s Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell chips, with the size of the increase depending on the chip generation and memory configuration, according to the report, which cited people familiar with the matter.
Companies that build servers for major data center operators, including Microsoft, Alphabet’s Google and Oracle, have recently informed customers about the expected increases, Bloomberg reported.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report. Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours.
Nvidia’s chips are central to the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure, making the company a key player in the broader AI ecosystem.
The company is scheduled to report its second-quarter results on August 26. Its financial performance is closely watched by investors as demand for AI chips and data center capacity continues to drive growth across the technology sector.
