Actor Andrew Garfield has revealed that he secretly uses Instagram despite not having a public account, saying he spends more time on the social media platform than he intends to.
In an interview with Variety, Garfield said his phone screen-time reports were “horrific” because of the amount of time he spends on his device.
The Spider-Man actor said he is regularly drawn into different content on Instagram, including ceramics and Japanese crafts.
Garfield also acknowledged why people can feel overwhelmed by their phones and said keeping a device in another room can make it easier to avoid repeatedly checking it.
What did Garfield say about leaving acting?
Garfield also spoke about his career and said he has frequently considered leaving acting behind.
The actor said he has been working almost continuously this year, spending around 11 or 12 months involved in different projects.
Although Garfield said he wants audiences to watch his work, he expressed a preference for a quieter lifestyle away from the entertainment industry.
He said he would rather spend his time in the countryside, working with wood and enjoying a slower pace of life.
Garfield is continuing his acting career and is set to appear in Artificial alongside his partner, actor Monica Barbaro.
Barbaro recently praised Garfield, describing him as “one of the best actors of our generation” and saying she learned from working with him.
