United Kingdom: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reaffirmed their campaign for online child safety as they prepare to return to the UK, where their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to begin school in September.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to return to Britain after several years away, with reports raising questions about security arrangements for the family. Prince Harry has reportedly contacted the UK Home Office regarding risk assessments and security provisions during the visit.

Amid preparations for their return, the couple has continued its advocacy work in the United States, focusing on the safety and privacy of children online.

The Sussexes issued a statement highlighting legal action involving Meta and growing concerns over the use of artificial intelligence and social media platforms by young people.

They pointed to what they described as an “unprecedented bipartisan coalition” of 29 US state governments seeking greater accountability over privacy violations and allegedly unsafe platform designs.

What did Harry and Meghan say about Meta?

The couple’s statement criticised Meta over the safety of young users and accused the company of placing financial interests ahead of children’s wellbeing.

The statement also highlighted testimony from a whistleblower who has raised concerns about the company’s approach to child safety and online platform design.

The Sussexes said parents and child-safety advocates, including members of The Parents’ Network, were supporting families involved in the legal proceedings.

They described the case as a significant moment for families seeking greater protection for children online and said its outcome could have implications for children in the United States and elsewhere.

Harry and Meghan have made online safety a central part of their advocacy work through The Parents’ Network, which focuses on protecting children and families from online harms.

The couple’s latest statement comes as they prepare for their return to the UK and face renewed attention over their children’s security and schooling arrangements.
