Islamabad: Momina Iqbal is set to marry on June 1, according to confirmation from her family, as the actor continues to pursue a legal case involving allegations of harassment and intimidation.
The announcement was made by her sister and legal representative, Rimsha Iqbal, who said the nikah ceremony has been arranged with mutual consent between both families. She identified the groom as Muhammad Hamza Habibi.
The confirmation follows days of speculation on social media regarding the actor’s marriage plans.
The development comes amid an ongoing investigation into allegations made by Momina Iqbal against a politically influential individual. The actor had earlier claimed on social media that she and her family were receiving threats, prompting authorities to initiate legal proceedings.
According to Rimsha Iqbal, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned a Punjab lawmaker in connection with allegations of online harassment and intimidation.
Speaking to the media, Rimsha said the investigation had progressed and that all available evidence had been submitted to authorities. She added that the accused individual had been called in for questioning as part of the inquiry.
She further stated that the family was pursuing the matter through legal channels and was not seeking unnecessary public attention. However, she acknowledged receiving support from both the public and state institutions.
Rimsha also said security arrangements had been provided for the actor and members of her future in-laws’ family following reported threats linked to the case.
The family expressed hope that the investigation would conclude fairly through legal proceedings.
