Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has expressed support for the recent de-escalation between the United States and Iran, while reiterating Ukraine’s readiness to agree to a ceasefire with Russia under suitable conditions.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Zelenskiy said Ukraine has consistently called for an end to the war with Russia and welcomed efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East and Gulf region. He noted that such developments could help create space for broader diplomatic engagement.
Zelenskiy added that Ukraine would be prepared to “respond in kind” if Russia halted its military strikes, underscoring Kyiv’s openness to reciprocal steps toward de-escalation. His remarks come amid ongoing hostilities in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has continued despite repeated international calls for negotiations and a ceasefire.
The statement highlights Ukraine’s attempt to align its position with global diplomatic trends, while maintaining pressure for an end to the conflict through mutually observed restraint.
