Pakistan: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 12 will be played from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises returning for a second consecutive season in the expanded format, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday.
The playing window was finalised following consultations with the eight franchise owners and representatives at the PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1.
The 12th edition will follow a record-setting PSL 11, which featured eight teams for the first time and introduced a player auction in place of the previous draft system. The final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium drew a record crowd of 32,461 spectators.
Peshawar Zalmi won PSL 11 after defeating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3, 2026, securing the title after a nine-year gap.
What will happen before PSL 12 begins?
The PCB said several key activities will take place ahead of the tournament, including direct player signings, retentions, the trade window and the player auction.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 12 would seek to build on the previous season’s record crowds, broadcasts and competitive cricket, while PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the upcoming milestones would build anticipation ahead of the tournament.
When will PSL 12 schedule and ticket details be announced?
The PCB said detailed information on the match schedule, venues, player auction and ticketing arrangements will be announced at a later stage.
The eight franchises will return to compete for the PSL title during the March 18-May 2 playing window, marking the second successive season of the league’s eight-team format.
