Police have formally raised concerns over an alleged breach of security protocols by Lahore Qalandars players Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sikandar Raza during the ongoing Pakistan Super League, according to an official letter sent to league authorities.
The letter, addressed to the PSL chief executive, alleges that the two players violated established security protocols at the team hotel, where strict movement and access controls are in place for players and officials.
According to police, Afridi and Raza “disregarded the directives” and forcefully escorted four unauthorized individuals into Raza’s hotel room, bypassing security procedures.
Officials stated that such actions compromise the integrity of the security framework, which is designed to protect players, officials, and foreign participants during the high-profile tournament.
The incident has raised serious concerns among security agencies, particularly given the heightened measures typically enforced during PSL events. Authorities emphasized that all teams and players are required to strictly adhere to security protocols without exception.
The matter has been formally reported to PSL management, and further action may be taken following review by the relevant authorities.
Neither the players nor the franchise have publicly responded to the allegations so far.
