NEW DELHI: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday briefed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the latest developments in West Asia during a telephone conversation, as India reiterated its support for dialogue, diplomacy and lasting regional peace.
According to India’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), President Pezeshkian updated Modi on the evolving situation in the region and the future course of ongoing negotiations. Modi welcomed the progress made and reaffirmed India’s longstanding position that disputes should be resolved through peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement.

Iran said it has no plans to hold direct meetings with US officials in the coming days despite ongoing diplomatic activity linked to the implementation of the recently agreed memorandum.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said discussions scheduled in Doha are technical in nature and involve coordination with Qatar on implementing provisions of the agreement, including the release of Iran’s frozen financial assets.
He said the meetings should not be viewed as direct political negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
