A commemorative event titled “MARKA-E-HAQ PAKISTAN – Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, Battle of Truth Victory Day” was held in Dallas to mark the first anniversary of what was described by participants as Pakistan’s victory in the May 5, 2025 conflict with India.
The gathering was attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani diaspora community. It was hosted by community leader Abdul Hafeez Khan and featured speeches from political representatives, diplomats, journalists, and business figures.
The chief guests included Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi and Overseas Pakistani Foundation Chairman Syed Qamar Raza, along with Vice Consul General from Houston Usher Shahzad. The event was marked by patriotic slogans including “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pakistan Army Zindabad”.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Nehal Hashmi said Pakistan had responded strongly to recent aggression and demonstrated its military capability on the international stage. He said national ideology remained the country’s core strength and urged young people to contribute to Pakistan’s development, particularly in the economic sector. Referring to Pakistan’s nuclear capability, he said the country had become “invincible” following its acquisition of nuclear deterrence.
Hashmi also praised the Pakistan Air Force, recalling historical references including Squadron Leader MM Alam’s performance in the 1965 war, during which he shot down multiple Indian aircraft in combat.
Overseas Pakistani Foundation Chairman Syed Qamar Raza highlighted the role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting the national economy, stating that remittances reached $38.3 billion last year and were expected to exceed $41 billion this year. He urged expatriates to use formal banking channels, arguing that increased inflows could help reduce reliance on the International Monetary Fund.
Senior journalist Sohail Warraich also addressed the event, stating that Pakistan’s performance was being acknowledged internationally.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security, stability, and prosperity.
