Explosives-Laden Vehicle Rams Police Lines Gate

At least 15 people were killed and more than 50 injured in a blast near a mosque in the Police Lines area of Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday, September 18, according to hospital officials.

KP Inspector General of Police said an explosives-laden vehicle was rammed into the gate of the Old Police Lines, triggering a powerful explosion followed by firing. Police personnel were among those injured.

    Mosque Damaged, Rescue Operation Underway

The explosion occurred during Friday prayers, causing significant damage to the mosque’s outer section and collapsing a wall. Rescue teams launched operations at the scene, while additional security personnel were deployed to the Police Lines.

The Kohat-Hangu Road was closed to traffic following the incident. The District Headquarters Hospital declared an emergency as casualties were brought in for treatment. Authorities are continuing rescue and security operations, while further details remain awaited.
