Israel has conducted renewed airstrikes in southern Lebanon despite a broader ceasefire context in the Middle East, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stating that the Iran-related truce does not extend to Lebanon.
The latest strikes came even though Hezbollah has not reported any operations since 2200 GMT. Israel also issued a new evacuation warning for an area more than 40 kilometres inside Lebanese territory, reiterating that “the battle in Lebanon is ongoing.”
Earlier, Israel had ordered the evacuation of a building in the southern Tyre region before carrying out a strike on the target, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA). The agency further reported multiple strikes across southern areas of the country.
The developments highlight continued volatility along the Israel-Lebanon front, with military actions persisting alongside broader regional ceasefire discussions.
