    What Happened?

Unidentified hackers reportedly breached the broadcast systems of two Indian television news channels during the Indian president’s televised address, disrupting transmissions and triggering concerns over cybersecurity.

According to media reports, the affected broadcasters were TV9 Telugu and Freedom TV Kannada. The alleged breach occurred while the president’s speech was being aired.

    What Was Broadcast?

Reports claimed that Pakistan’s national anthem was aired on TV9 Telugu during the disruption. A warning message was also reportedly displayed on the affected channels, cautioning against provoking Pakistan.

The claims have circulated widely on social media, although no official confirmation has been issued regarding the authenticity of the alleged broadcast content or the identity of those responsible.

    What Has Been the Response?

Neither the Indian government nor the affected broadcasters had officially commented on the reported cyber incident at the time of reporting.

According to the reports, TV9 Telugu has more than 14 million social media followers, while Freedom TV Kannada has an online following exceeding one million.

    Why Does It Matter?

Cybersecurity experts cited in media reports said the alleged breach underscores potential vulnerabilities in India’s broadcasting and information technology infrastructure, raising concerns about the security of critical media systems. The incident, if confirmed, could prompt renewed scrutiny of cybersecurity measures protecting India’s broadcast networks.
