Iran: Iran has reportedly restarted parts of its drone production during a six-week ceasefire that began in early April, according to CNN, which cited two sources familiar with US intelligence assessments.
The report further states that US intelligence agencies assess Iran’s military rebuild efforts are progressing faster than initially expected, based on information from four sources familiar with the matter. The findings suggest continued reconstitution of Iranian military capabilities despite the temporary halt in hostilities.
Reuters noted it could not independently verify the CNN report.
The developments come amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region. US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States was prepared to carry out further strikes on Tehran if Iran failed to agree to a peace deal, while also indicating Washington could pause for a few days to “get the right answers” in ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The situation reflects continuing uncertainty over the durability of the ceasefire and the trajectory of US-Iran relations, as both diplomatic engagement and military posturing remain active.
