The AS-Level Business Studies examination paper under Cambridge International Education (CIE) has reportedly been leaked online ahead of its scheduled sitting, raising renewed concerns over exam security and integrity.
The paper, identified as “9609 Paper 1,” was allegedly circulated on social media platforms on Monday night, just hours before the examination was due to take place.
The incident comes days after CIE acknowledged a separate breach involving an Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Mathematics Paper 1, which the board said was “shared prematurely against our regulations.”
In a statement issued on April 30, CIE confirmed that the AS Level Mathematics Paper 12 (9709), conducted across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Pakistan, and South Asia regions, had been compromised.
“We can confirm that Cambridge International AS Level Mathematics Paper 12 (9709) was shared prematurely against our regulations,” the statement said.
The examination body added that it was conducting a prompt and detailed investigation to assess the extent of the breach and determine appropriate next steps regarding the affected paper.
CIE also stated that its priority remained ensuring students were not disadvantaged by the incident, while reinforcing measures to protect examination integrity and maintain confidence in grading standards.
The latest alleged leak has intensified concerns among students and education stakeholders across multiple regions, particularly in South Asia, where Cambridge examinations are widely conducted.
