LAHORE: Abbottabad clinched the National T20 Cup 2026 title after defeating Karachi Whites by nine wickets in the final at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 119, Abbottabad comfortably reached 119-1 in 13.5 overs, powered by an unbeaten half-century from opener Shahzaib Khan and a quickfire knock from Kamran Ghulam.
Shahzaib remained unbeaten on 54 off 41 balls, while Kamran Ghulam scored an unbeaten 45 from 26 deliveries as Abbottabad completed the chase with ease. The only wicket to fall was that of Afaq Khan, who scored 13.
Earlier, Karachi Whites were bowled out for 118 in 18.3 overs after Abbottabad’s bowlers produced a disciplined performance to restrict the opposition throughout the innings.
Karachi struggled to build momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. Saqib Khan top-scored with 22 runs, while captain Saud Shakeel contributed 17. Shan Masood made 16 and Haroon Arshad added 13, but no batter was able to convert their start into a substantial innings.
Abbottabad’s bowling attack shared the wickets, with Arshad Iqbal delivering a key spell that dismantled Karachi’s middle order. Captain Shadab Khan, Shahab Khan and Razaullah also made significant contributions as Karachi were dismissed before completing their allotted overs.
The final had originally been scheduled to take place at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on March 19 but was postponed because of persistent rain and an unplayable outfield. The match was later relocated and staged at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The victory secured Abbottabad’s National T20 Cup 2026 title following a dominant all-round performance in the tournament decider.
