Pakistan Not Among Five Nations Committing Troops For Gaza Stabilization Force

Pakistan was not included among the five countries announced to have committed troops for the proposed International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza, officials confirmed following a high-level meeting in Washington.

The announcement was made during the inaugural session of the Board of Peace, chaired by US President Donald Trump. The initiative aims to coordinate post-conflict stabilisation and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

According to officials present at the meeting, five countries, Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania, have agreed to contribute troops to the force.

The proposed ISF is expected to focus initially on securing reconstruction zones and supporting governance arrangements in Gaza following the recent conflict.

Pakistan, however, has not made any formal commitment.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that Islamabad is awaiting clarity regarding the mandate, operational structure, and rules of engagement of the International Stabilisation Force before taking a decision.

“Pakistan will consider participation only if the mandate is strictly within the framework of peacekeeping and does not involve enforcement or disarmament operations,” the spokesperson said.

Officials indicated that discussions are ongoing and that further details about the ISF’s command structure and legal framework are yet to be finalised.

During the meeting, President Trump reiterated Washington’s commitment to financial assistance for Gaza’s reconstruction and expressed hope that armed groups in the territory would eventually disarm, though no timeline was provided.

The formation of the stabilisation force is part of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring order and facilitating reconstruction in Gaza after prolonged hostilities.

Pakistan has historically participated in United Nations peacekeeping missions but has maintained that any deployment must adhere to clearly defined international mandates.

No further statement was issued by the Pakistani government regarding potential future participation.
