John Cena is one of the safest wrestlers to work with in WWE. The Never Seen 17 never compromised safety even as he climbed his way out of his Five Moves of Doom phase. Interestingly, legend Paul London has now come forward with a story, recalling how Cena handled things when a botch by him badly hurt Mr. Hustle Loyalty and Respect.

Speaking on the matter on Chris Van Vliet’s podcast, London said he thought he would face severe consequences from management for the mishap. In the ring, however, he noted that The Leader of Cenation encouraged him to perform the move again.

The record-setting 17-time WWE World Champion’s words helped London execute the move safely the second time. But while the audience received a good show, the 45-year-old still got punished for the botch, which surprised Cena.

“Yeah, that was in Dallas..He [John Cena] was supposed to catch my ankles here and go this way. But it went [crash]. I was like, oh sh**, I’m f***ed. I’m done… He’s [John Cena] like, ‘It’s not ballet. Come on, let’s do it again.’ And we hit it and it worked in the match, so just super generous. I didn’t find out until later at OVW, when John came to work out with us, he’s like, ‘Why are you here?’ He was like They got mad at me for giving you what I did.”

Paul London is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion. He has won the World Tag Team Championship once and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice, once with Brian Kendrick and once with Billy Kidman.

John Cena didn’t want R-Truth to beat him

The second season of WWE Unreal is out. The second episode of the iteration showcased John Cena discussing his tag team match alongside Logan Paul against Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes.

The Franchise Player said that he didn’t want R-Truth’s interference during the match to take him out, but wanted Rhodes to get the finish.

“I go get the title, all we had was Truth coming in, taking the thing, like “You can’t handle the Truth,” and I got into the Cross Rhodes. We could have him take the thing, give me a f****** AA, or knock me into a Cross Rhodes. My one thing was, I don’t want him to beat me, and not Cody to beat me.”

The match saw The American Nightmare pinning Cena in the end for the win. Rhodes became the King of the Ring later to challenge Cena for the Undisputed Championship and reclaimed the belt at SummerSlam.
