FLORIDA: Former Fox News producer Jennifer Eckhart, who filed a 2020 lawsuit accusing former Fox News host Ed Henry of rape and sexual abuse, has died by suicide at the age of 36, authorities confirmed.
Eckhart was found dead at her residence in Hobe Sound, Florida, on September 19, according to a spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities determined her death was a suicide. Her exact cause of death has not been disclosed.
Eckhart worked for Fox for about seven years and served as an associate producer at Fox Business.
In 2020, Eckhart filed a lawsuit alleging that Henry raped and sexually abused her. Henry denied the allegations and said their encounter was consensual. Fox News terminated Henry in July 2020 following an independent investigation after Eckhart complained to the network.
Fox News said at the time that management had not received previous sexual harassment complaints against Henry. Eckhart also named Fox News in her lawsuit, but the network was later removed from the case.
The lawsuit against Henry was later settled following a lengthy legal process.
After the litigation, Eckhart focused on supporting people dealing with trauma through animal-assisted therapy. She founded The Reinvented Project and launched the podcast Reinvented with Jen Eckhart.
