KARACHI: A Karachi court has acquitted the suspect in the Karsaz road accident case in a separate narcotics case after prosecutors failed to establish the charges with sufficient evidence.
The court ruled in favour of the accused after examining the evidence presented in the case. The prosecution was unable to prove the narcotics charges beyond reasonable doubt.
The acquittal relates specifically to the narcotics case and does not, by itself, determine the outcome of other proceedings connected with the Karsaz accident.
Court Finds Prosecution Evidence Insufficient
The case arose from allegations that the suspect was in possession of narcotics. The prosecution presented its evidence before the court during proceedings.
After reviewing the material, the court concluded that the evidence was insufficient to sustain a conviction and acquitted the suspect.
The Karsaz accident case has separately remained under judicial proceedings, following a fatal road crash in Karachi that resulted in deaths and injuries.
The latest court decision concerns only the narcotics charge, with the legal status of proceedings in the other case to be determined separately.
