RAWALPINDI: A special ceremony is being held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, also referred to as the “Battle of Truth,” marking Pakistan’s military victory during the 2025 conflict with India.
The event is being attended by senior military leadership, with Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir participating as the chief guest.
The ceremony honours the armed forces’ role during the 19-day conflict between Pakistan and India that lasted from April 22 to May 10, 2025.
According to official accounts, tensions escalated after an attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, following which India launched strikes against Pakistan on May 6 and 7.
Pakistan responded with military operations during the 87-hour confrontation, claiming to have downed eight Indian fighter jets, including French-made Rafale aircraft, along with dozens of drones.
The conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours ended on May 10 after a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.
The anniversary ceremony at GHQ includes tributes to military personnel and commemorations of the operation carried out during the conflict.
