KARACHI: Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem has been confirmed in the entry list for the men’s javelin throw at the Lausanne Diamond League, scheduled to take place on August 21, where he will compete against some of the world’s top throwers.
The entry list, released by the event organisers, features an elite field led by India’s Neeraj Chopra, two-time world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada, and newly crowned Commonwealth Games gold medallist and world leader Rumesh Pathirage of Sri Lanka.
The competition will also include Germany’s Julian Weber and Thomas Röhler, Czechia’s Jakub Vadlejch, Curtis Thompson of the United States, Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, and Switzerland’s Simon Wieland, making it one of the strongest javelin fields of the 2026 Diamond League season.

Nadeem heads to Lausanne looking to regain momentum after a disappointing performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he was unable to defend the gold medal he won in 2022.
The 29-year-old opened his final with a foul before recording throws of 77.41 metres and 75.39 metres in his next two attempts. The efforts left him ninth in the 12-man field, ending his medal hopes before the final rounds.
Four years earlier, Nadeem had delivered a memorable performance to win Commonwealth gold with a throw of 90.18 metres, cementing his status among the world’s leading javelin throwers.
The Lausanne Diamond League will provide the Pakistani star with an opportunity to return to form against a world-class lineup as athletes continue preparations for the major international competitions later this season.
