Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Monday for a two-day official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, energy and investment, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, the prime minister was received by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with senior officials, is accompanying the premier.
According to the Foreign Office, Sharif is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the Qatari emir covering the full spectrum of relations, including political engagement, economic collaboration, energy partnerships and people-to-people exchanges.
The two sides are expected to explore avenues for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development and manpower export. Discussions will also include regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Pakistan and Qatar maintain close diplomatic and economic ties, with Doha serving as a key energy partner for Islamabad, particularly in liquefied natural gas supplies. Officials said the visit reflects a shared commitment to further strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
