Russia: Russia said its armed forces carried out overnight precision strikes on military-related transport and logistics infrastructure in Kyiv and a major steel production facility in Zaporizhzhia, describing the attacks as part of efforts to disrupt Ukraine’s defence industry and military supply chain.
According to Russia’s Defence Ministry, the strikes targeted the Nova Poshta sorting complex in Kyiv, which Moscow alleged was being used to store and distribute dual-use equipment, including components for long- and medium-range drones, robotic systems and electronic warfare equipment. The ministry also claimed it struck the Kyiv-3 transport and logistics centre, describing it as a warehouse complex used to store attack drones, ground control stations and related military equipment.
Ukraine Reports Civilian Casualties as Fighting Intensifies
Ukrainian authorities said the overnight attacks killed six people and injured 20 others in the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, while missile strikes also triggered fires in the capital, Kyiv. Both Russia and Ukraine continue to deny deliberately targeting civilians during the conflict.
Russia further stated that its missiles struck the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant, part of the Metinvest Group, claiming the facility was producing steel products used in military fortifications, armoured vehicles and body armour. The strikes underscore Moscow’s continued focus on targeting Ukraine’s industrial and logistical infrastructure as the war enters another phase of sustained long-range attacks.
