Trump Reports More Than $1.4 Billion in Crypto Income in Latest Financial Disclosure

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump reported more than $1.4 billion in income from cryptocurrency-related ventures in his 2025 financial disclosure, highlighting the growing role of digital assets in his business portfolio.

The annual filing with the US Office of Government Ethics shows that crypto-related businesses generated the largest share of Trump’s reported income during the year, alongside earnings from real estate, licensing deals and legal settlements.

How much did Trump earn from cryptocurrency?

According to the disclosure, Trump’s companies received nearly $800 million from World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture co-founded by Trump and his sons.

The reported income included more than $520 million from crypto token sales and over $250 million from the sale of ownership interests in the business. Family members are also expected to receive a share of those proceeds.

Trump also disclosed approximately $635 million in revenue from sales of his Trump-themed meme coins.

The filing marks a significant increase from the previous year’s disclosure, when Trump reported $57.35 million in income from World Liberty Financial token sales.

How has Trump’s crypto business expanded?

According to Reuters estimates, the Trump family has earned at least $2.3 billion from cryptocurrency-related projects since Trump’s return to the White House in 2025.

Since taking office, the administration has introduced several measures viewed as favourable to the cryptocurrency industry, including new federal regulations for stablecoins and reduced enforcement actions by the US Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

What other income did Trump report?

Beyond cryptocurrency, Trump reported more than $80 million from legal settlements with media companies and millions more through licensing agreements allowing overseas property developers to use the Trump brand.

His real estate and hospitality businesses also recorded higher earnings.

Revenue from Trump’s golf courses and resorts increased by 15% to more than $500 million in 2025. His Mar-a-Lago resort generated $77 million in revenue, up from $50 million the previous year, while revenue at his nearby West Palm Beach golf club also increased.

How did the White House respond?

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly rejected suggestions that the president’s business interests present a conflict of interest, saying neither Trump nor his family had engaged in conduct that violated ethical standards.

She said the administration’s actions were aimed at benefiting the American public and defended the president’s policies supporting the cryptocurrency sector.

The White House has previously stated that Trump’s business operations are managed by his children, although the president remains the beneficiary of the trust holding many of the assets.

What concerns have ethics experts raised?

Don Fox, a former acting head of the US Office of Government Ethics, said US presidents are exempt from federal conflict-of-interest laws that apply to most executive branch employees.

He argued that previous presidents voluntarily observed stricter ethical norms, adding that Trump’s financial disclosures could renew calls for reforms governing the investment holdings of presidents and vice presidents.

A spokesperson for the The Trump Organization said the nearly 1,000-page disclosure demonstrates the company’s commitment to transparency and described it as one of the most comprehensive presidential financial reports ever submitted.
