Islamabad, May 22: The federal government has decided to issue a commemorative Rs75 coin to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced on Thursday.

According to the central bank, the coin will be available to the public from May 25 through exchange counters at the field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation.

Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951.

The SBP said the coin is circular with serrated edges and is made of copper-nickel, containing 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel. It has a diameter of 36mm and weighs 19 grams.

The obverse side features a waxing crescent moon and a five-pointed star in a rising position facing north-west. The inscription “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” appears along the upper edge in Urdu script. The year of issuance, 2026, is placed below the crescent above two wheat sprigs, while the denomination “75” and “Rupia” appear on either side of the crescent.

On the reverse side, the inscription reads “75th Anniversary of Pakistan and China Diplomatic Relations” along the upper periphery, with “Trust Friendship Support” written along the lower edge in English.

At the centre, the design features the national flags of Pakistan and China, with a stylised numeral “75” beneath them, flanked by the years 1951 and 2026. Urdu and Chinese inscriptions highlight the milestone and themes of trust, friendship, and cooperation.

The phrase “Pak–Cheen Safarati Taulqat Kay 75 Saal” is inscribed above the flags, while “Ittehad–Dosti–Taawun” appears below the numeral 75 in Urdu and Chinese scripts, reflecting the spirit of bilateral relations.
