Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.53 billion in workers’ remittances during April 2026, registering an 11.4% increase compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday.
Despite the annual growth, remittance inflows declined by 7.6% on a month-on-month basis from March 2026, when Pakistan received $3.83 billion.
The SBP said total remittances during the first ten months of fiscal year 2025-26 reached $33.86 billion, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in April, with overseas Pakistanis sending $841.7 million. The United Arab Emirates contributed $734.7 million, while inflows from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries totaled $325 million.
Combined remittances from the Middle East stood at nearly $1.9 billion during the month, according to central bank figures.
Analysts attributed the monthly decline to reduced post-Eid transfer activity following stronger inflows in previous months, while noting that overall remittance growth remained stable on a yearly basis.
Pakistan is targeting approximately $41 billion in remittance inflows by the end of FY26, compared to around $38 billion recorded during FY25.
