Senior Khawaja Saad Rafique has called on the United States to lift its naval blockade on Iran, saying the move is necessary to enable Pakistan to play a mediating role between Tehran and Washington.
In a statement, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader urged Washington to release what he described as a “captured Iranian ship” and end restrictions that are hindering diplomatic engagement. He added that removing these obstacles would allow Islamabad to bring Iran to the negotiating table.
Rafique’s remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and stalled diplomacy, with Pakistan positioning itself as a potential intermediary in efforts to revive dialogue between the United States and Iran.
