LOS ANGELES: Actor Tom Holland has described a recent on-set experience involving his fiancée Zendaya, calling it an “amazing moment” that influenced the final version of a scene in their upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Speaking on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, Holland said the moment occurred during filming when the pair were working on a scene together and decided to reassess its effectiveness during production.
He said that after filming his portion of the scene, the production team moved on to Zendaya’s coverage when he asked her opinion on whether the scene was working. According to Holland, Zendaya felt the scene was not effective, prompting the team to revisit and reshoot it the following day.
Holland said the revised version significantly improved the final cut, adding that the adjustment “sings in the movie.”
The actor noted that the creative exchange was possible due to their close personal relationship, saying it was not something he would typically suggest to another actor during filming.
Holland and Zendaya have begun promotional activities for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled for release on July 31. The cast is also expected to appear at a global fan event in Amsterdam on June 17, where new footage and promotional material are likely to be revealed.
