The Mastung operation comes days after security forces killed 11 militants in separate intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Washuk on September 6 and 7, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Balochistan remains one of Pakistan’s main violence hotspots. A CRSS report cited in the report said Balochistan recorded 265 violence-related deaths and 94 violent incidents during the second quarter of 2026, accounting for 34% and 35% respectively of the national totals.
