ISLAMABAD: Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, is scheduled to begin a two-day official visit to Pakistan on Tuesday for discussions on bilateral relations, regional developments, and international issues, the Foreign Office said.

The visit, taking place from July 28 to 29 at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, comes as the two countries seek to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.

According to the Foreign Office, the Kuwaiti foreign minister will hold delegation-level talks with Dar, during which both sides will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

Sheikh Jarrah is also expected to call on Pakistan’s senior leadership during his stay in Islamabad.

What Will Pakistan and Kuwait Discuss During the Visit?

The Foreign Office said the talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including political engagement, economic collaboration, and regional affairs.

“The two sides will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual interest,” the ministry said in a statement.

Officials described the visit as a reflection of the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Kuwait and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The two countries maintain close diplomatic ties and have regularly cooperated in trade, investment, labor, and defense.

    Why Is the Visit Significant?

The visit comes amid heightened diplomatic engagement between Islamabad and Gulf states as Pakistan seeks to strengthen strategic and economic partnerships across the region.

It also follows reports that Pakistan and Kuwait have been discussing expanding defense cooperation alongside broader economic and energy collaboration. Pakistani and Kuwaiti authorities have not officially commented on the reported negotiations beyond confirming continued bilateral engagement.

The Foreign Office said the visit underscores the commitment of both governments to enhancing their enduring partnership through regular high-level exchanges and dialogue on regional and international issues.

The meetings are expected to conclude on July 29 with discussions aimed at further advancing bilateral cooperation and reinforcing diplomatic ties between the two countries.
