Iran has not yet decided whether it will participate in proposed talks with the United States in Pakistan, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Tuesday.
Speaking to state television, Baghaei criticized recent US actions against two Iranian vessels, describing them as “piracy at sea” and “state terrorism,” and raised doubts about Washington’s commitment to meaningful negotiations.
Meanwhile, a White House official confirmed that US Vice President JD Vance has not yet departed Washington for the anticipated discussions and remains engaged in ongoing policy meetings.
The developments underscore continued uncertainty surrounding potential diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between Washington and Tehran, with no confirmed timeline for talks in Pakistan.
