Australia’s David Warner has been named captain of the Karachi Kings for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the franchise announced on Wednesday, confirming his leadership role for a second consecutive term. The decision comes ahead of the tournament’s anticipated start next week, with teams finalising squads and leadership appointments.

Warner, one of the most experienced international batsmen in the PSL, led the Kings during the 2025 season, earning praise for his tactical acumen and on‑field leadership. Karachi Kings management said they have renewed confidence in his ability to guide the side through the challenges of PSL 11.

The 38‑year‑old left‑handed opener has been a consistent performer in T20 leagues worldwide, with a reputation for aggressive batting and strategic captaincy. He will be joined by a mix of international and domestic players as Karachi Kings aim to improve on their past performances in the league.

Team officials said Warner’s experience and leadership qualities were key factors in retaining him as captain, with training sessions already underway. Karachi Kings are expected to field a competitive squad featuring several young talents alongside seasoned campaigners.

PSL 11 is scheduled to begin later this month, with cricket fans across the country anticipating another exciting edition of Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament. Karachi Kings will play their opening match at the National Stadium in Karachi.
