LONDON: Pakistan’s national shooting team delivered a standout performance at the F-Class British Open 2026, winning 13 medals, including seven gold, two silver and four bronze, at the prestigious international competition held in Bisley, United Kingdom.
The tournament took place from August 3 to 8 and featured approximately 185 shooters from 24 countries, bringing together many of the world’s leading F-Class rifle competitors.
Led by Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez, Pakistan fielded one of the smallest contingents at the event, with only 12 shooters, but emerged among the competition’s top-performing teams through strong performances in both individual and aggregate events.
What Does the Result Mean for the Upcoming World Championship?
The British Open is regarded as a key preparatory event for the 7th F-Class World Championship, which is being held at Bisley from August 10 to 16, 2026.
Following their medal-winning campaign, Pakistan’s shooters have advanced to the world championship, where they will face top marksmen from across the globe.
Team officials described the British Open performance as a reflection of Pakistan’s growing competitiveness in long-range F-Class rifle shooting, highlighting the team’s ability to challenge leading international competitors despite its relatively small squad.
With momentum from their success at the British Open, the Pakistani team will now aim to build on its strong form and compete for further honours at the F-Class World Championship in Bisley.
