Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by seven wickets to continue their unbeaten run in the Pakistan Super League season 11 match at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing 183, Zalmi reached the target in 18.5 overs for the loss of three wickets, powered by half-centuries from Kusal Mendis and Farhan Yousaf.
Zalmi made a steady start before losing early wickets, including Babar Azam, who scored 25, and James Vince, who made 16.
Mendis anchored the innings with 80 off 43 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes, while Yousaf remained unbeaten on 54 off 35 deliveries, sealing the win with a boundary. Mendis was named player of the match.
Earlier, Karachi posted 182-9 in 20 overs, led by Jason Roy, who scored 85 off 51 balls, and Azam Khan, who added 35.
Roy shared a 63-run partnership with Azam after earlier contributions from David Warner and Salman Ali Agha.
Zalmi’s bowling was led by Ali Raza, who claimed four wickets, including a hat-trick in the final over. He dismissed Hasan Ali for a first-ball duck and was also involved in a run-out.
Karachi lost late wickets despite Roy’s innings, with Khushdil Shah and Shahid Aziz falling in the final over.
The result keeps Zalmi in strong contention in the tournament, while Karachi face pressure to improve their standings.
