With several media outlets posting their Preseason College Football Top 25 rankings for 2026, we’ve calculated our first Composite Football Rankings for next season.
The composite aggregates and averages 16 different media rankings (so far). The formula assigns a No. 1 ranking 25 points, a No. 2 ranking 24 points, and so on.
The rounded result is divided by the number of polls and subtracted from 25, yielding the Composite Rank. Scores of less than 25 points result in a composite non-ranking.
A total of seven teams in the West were rated in multiple media preseason rankings and are in the composite table below. Cal was included in two rankings and ASU in one.
Oregon, the top SuperWest Composite team at No. 3, appears in every list and no lower than 9th. BYU has the next highest composite ranking at No. 11, but is ranked as high as 9th.
