PARIS: Airbus delivered 67 commercial aircraft in July, matching its performance in the same month last year, as the European planemaker reaffirmed its target of delivering around 870 jets in 2026.
The July deliveries brought Airbus’ total for the year to 418 aircraft, leaving the company needing to average about 90 deliveries per month for the remainder of the year to meet its annual goal.
Deliveries remain on target
Airbus reported 204 new aircraft orders during July, increasing its gross order total for 2026 to 1,024. After adjustments, including previously announced order cancellations, the company’s net order book stood at 1,090 aircraft.
The company also confirmed major aircraft orders from Chinese carriers, including Hainan Airlines and China Eastern, as well as a 100-aircraft A320neo-family order from Irish lessor SMBC Aviation.
Production outlook unchanged
Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said last week Airbus remained confident of meeting its full-year delivery target despite supply chain challenges. The company has also adopted a more conciliatory approach in its ongoing discussions with engine supplier Pratt & Whitney over production constraints.
Airbus’ latest figures come as global demand for new commercial aircraft remains strong, with rival Boeing expected to release its monthly order and delivery data next week.
