Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched its 28th humanitarian relief consignment for civilians in the Gaza Strip, comprising 100 tonnes of tents and shelter supplies, state media and official releases reported.
The special cargo flight carrying the aid departed Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore for Al-Arish, Egypt, from where the supplies will be forwarded to Gaza, NDMA said in a statement released on Monday.
NDMA officials confirmed the shipment was sent under directives from the Prime Minister of Pakistan and organized in coordination with the Pakistani charity Alkhidmat Foundation.
With this latest dispatch, Pakistan’s total volume of aid delivered for Palestinians, including food, shelter, medicines and other relief items, has now reached approximately 2,727 tonnes across 28 consignments sent since the crisis began.
A formal send-off ceremony was held at the Lahore airport, attended by Punjab Housing Minister Mian Bilal Yasin, senior NDMA officials, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of the Alkhidmat Foundation.
Officials reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing ongoing humanitarian support to displaced Palestinian families, highlighting sustained efforts amid the prolonged conflict.
Pakistan has been sending regular relief shipments to Gaza since October 2023, including tents, tarpaulins, food supplies and medical aid, in response to severe displacement and infrastructure damage in the enclave. Earlier NDMA records show multiple previous consignments that collectively delivered thousands of tonnes of aid.
In addition to government-led efforts, Pakistan has supported multinational civil society initiatives such as the Global Sumud Flotilla, aimed at delivering aid by sea to Gaza, a project backed by several countries.
Pakistan continues to publicly call for increased humanitarian access and relief deliveries for the people of Gaza amid ongoing political and access challenges affecting aid distribution in the region.
