Turkiye’s Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has said the economic impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict is likely to be temporary and reversible if the recently agreed ceasefire between the United States and Iran holds, according to Reuters. Speaking in an interview with broadcaster Habertürk, he noted that authorities have already implemented certain measures to manage the situation but are prepared to introduce additional policy tools if the shock to the economy continues.
Şimşek added that the government stands ready with a broader set of responses should the ceasefire fail to hold, indicating contingency planning to safeguard economic stability amid regional uncertainty.
