Iran has laid out six key conditions for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict with Israel, as hostilities escalate and diplomatic efforts struggle to gain traction.
According to media reports, Tehran has linked any agreement to a set of security, political and military guarantees, underscoring that a ceasefire would not come without broader concessions.
Iran’s reported conditions include an immediate halt to Israeli and allied military operations, alongside binding assurances to prevent future attacks on Iranian territory.
Tehran has also called for respect for regional sovereignty, insisting that its role and security interests in the region be acknowledged. Another key demand is the cessation of attacks on Iran-aligned groups, reflecting its broader regional posture.
In addition, Iran is seeking accountability and compensation for damages caused during the conflict, as well as the establishment of an independent international mechanism to monitor and enforce compliance with any ceasefire agreement.
The development comes amid a rapidly intensifying conflict, with continued exchanges of missile strikes and air operations raising fears of a wider regional war. Diplomatic channels remain active through intermediaries, but no breakthrough has been reported so far.
Analysts say Iran’s conditions indicate a calculated and conditional approach to de-escalation, suggesting that prospects for an immediate ceasefire remain uncertain as both sides maintain hardened positions.
