US President Signals Possible End to Iran War

US President Donald Trump said the ongoing war with Iran could end “very soon,” even as fighting between US-Israeli forces and Iranian-backed groups continues across the region.

Speaking in interviews and public remarks, Trump said the military campaign against Iran is “very complete, pretty much” and “far ahead of schedule,” suggesting the conflict may conclude sooner than originally expected.

The war began on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian military and strategic infrastructure, triggering retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Tehran and its allies.

Trump said US forces have struck thousands of targets in Iran and claimed the campaign has significantly weakened Iran’s navy, missile capabilities and command structures.

Despite his optimism about a quick end to the conflict, Trump warned that the United States could escalate its operations if Iran threatens global oil routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, a key passage for international energy supplies.

The remarks came as the conflict continues to affect global markets, with oil prices and stock markets fluctuating amid uncertainty over the war’s duration.

However, Iranian officials have rejected suggestions that the war will end quickly, saying Tehran will continue its military response and that Iran, not Washington, will determine when the conflict ends.

The conflict has already caused significant casualties and damage across the region, raising fears of wider escalation involving Middle Eastern states and Iranian-aligned groups.
