Saudi Arabia Warns Iran Against Attacks, Signals Possible Retaliation

Saudi Arabia has warned Iran not to launch attacks against the kingdom, cautioning that any such action could trigger retaliation, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The warning was reportedly conveyed during diplomatic communication between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Iranian counterpart. Saudi officials emphasized that while Riyadh supports diplomatic solutions to regional tensions, it would respond if Iranian strikes targeted Saudi territory or critical infrastructure.

The message comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following recent missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran against targets across the Gulf region. Several countries hosting U.S. military assets have been hit by Iranian strikes as the conflict escalates.

Saudi Arabia has stressed that it does not want its territory to be used as a launch point for attacks on Iran, but officials warned that continued threats or strikes against the kingdom could prompt a strong response.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently said Tehran would halt attacks on neighboring states unless those countries were used to launch operations against Iran, and he issued an apology to Gulf states affected by earlier strikes.

The developments come as regional tensions remain high following a widening conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, raising concerns of further escalation across the Middle East.
