Pakistan: The Pakistan cricket team will tour England for a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series in 2027 as part of preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday.
When Will the ODI Series Be Played?
The series will begin on May 15, 2027, in Southampton, with the remaining matches scheduled across England.
The full schedule is:
- May 15: 1st ODI – Southampton
- May 19: 2nd ODI – Manchester
- May 21: 3rd ODI – Leeds
- May 23: 4th ODI – Chester-le-Street
- May 26: 5th ODI – Cardiff
The PCB said the series will provide important preparation for both teams ahead of the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia from October 4 to November 21, 2027.
How Are Both Teams Preparing for the World Cup?
Pakistan are currently ranked fifth in the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, while England sit at seventh.
Before the ODI series, Pakistan are scheduled to tour England for a three-match Test series from August 19 to September 13, 2026.
Pakistan last played an ODI series in England in 2021, where former captain Babar Azam was the leading run-scorer, scoring 177 runs across the series, including a 158-run innings in the third ODI.
The upcoming five-match series will serve as a key opportunity for both sides to assess their squads and combinations ahead of cricket’s premier 50-over tournament.
