Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court to legally remove “Pitt” from her surname.
The petition seeks to change her legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. Court documents list the reason for the request as “personal,” with a hearing scheduled for November 2.
Vivienne was previously credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for the Broadway production The Outsiders, where she worked alongside her mother, Angelina Jolie.

Yes. Vivienne is the latest of the former couple’s six children to seek removal of the Pitt surname. Shiloh legally dropped “Pitt” from her name in 2024, while reports indicate that Zahara and Maddox have also pursued similar legal changes.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt separated in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in late 2024. The former couple remains involved in an ongoing legal dispute over ownership of Château Miraval, the French winery they previously co-owned. Neither Jolie nor Pitt has publicly commented on Vivienne’s latest legal filing.
